Here at Field Head Farm we are very close to many attractions that will easily fill a sunny or a rainy day with plenty of fun for all ages.
There is also plenty around that can give you a restful day of simply walking, chilling or gently exploring, taking in the local flora and fauna.
The National Trust has many properties in the area including Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood, Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall, Tutbury Castle, Hardwick Hall, Ilam Park, and Shugborough Estate to name but a few.
English Heritage also have many attractions close by, including Croxden Abbey.
The Staffordshire Moorlands and the Derbyshire Peak District are close by and have a huge variety of walks, short and long for all abilities.
Tissington Trail and the Staffordshire Way being two of the more popular routes. Also Carsington resevoir can boast many extensive cycle and walking tracks.
The local area has much local history, such as The Pugin Church at Cheadle and Old Country Houses like Consall Hall and Gardens.
There are by-gone industrial revolution places of interest such as Cheddleton Railway and Foxfield Light Railway. Froghall Wharf and Consall Forge canals are still in use today and are a worth a visit.
Les Oakes, just outside Cheadle has a fantastic collection of farm and industrial memorbillia and architectural salvage that will take several hours to take in.
For action packed days, Uttoxeter Race Course has regular meetings and Alton Towers is just 10 minutes away, as well as many wildlife centres, zoo’s and farms.
There are also several water parks, Leisure centres, Gyms in the area.
Local Golf Courses nearby, include Uttoxeter, Denstone, Whiston and Kingstone and Trentham.
